Sprite Sheet Calculator
Calculate the size of a single frame from a sprite sheet's overall size and frame count.
Frame List
What is the Sprite Sheet Calculator?
This tool calculates the width and height of a single frame from a sprite sheet made up of multiple animation frames arranged in a grid. It's useful for checking an image, splitting it into frames, and reviewing an animation's order.
How to Use
- Drag and drop or select your sprite sheet.
- Confirm the width and height are filled in automatically from the image.
- Enter the number of columns and rows.
- Press "Calculate" to see the frame size and total count.
- Use the split preview, animation playback, and PNG/ZIP export as needed.
Example
Splitting a 768px-wide, 512px-tall image into 6 columns and 4 rows gives frames of 128×128px, with a total of 24 frames.
Using This in Game Development
Before setting up a sprite animation in Unity, you can confirm whether the image is split into the correct units. It's also useful when separating a player's idle, run, and attack motions into individual PNGs.
Notes
The image width must divide evenly by the number of columns, and the height by the number of rows. Padding, spacing, and trimming between frames are not supported, so use an evenly arranged image.

Which comes first, columns or rows?
Columns are the number arranged horizontally, and rows are the number arranged vertically.
Can I save the split frames?
