Game Revenue Calculator
Calculate gross revenue and an estimated net revenue, in Japanese yen, from your game price and number of copies sold.
What is the Game Revenue Calculator?
This tool calculates gross revenue from your game's price and number of copies sold, then estimates net revenue after platform fees and tax. It's useful for solo developers and small teams planning a sale.
How to Use
- Enter your game's price in Japanese yen.
- Enter the number of copies sold.
- Enter the platform fee and tax rate as percentages.
- Press "Calculate" to see gross revenue and the amount after deductions.
Example
With a price of ¥1,980, 1,000 copies sold, a 30% fee, and a 10% tax rate, gross revenue is ¥1,980,000, fees + tax total ¥792,000, and estimated net revenue is ¥1,188,000.
Using This in Game Development
Useful when deciding on a price for a storefront like Steam, or when comparing revenue across different target sales counts. It's also a way to line up a sale price against the regular price when thinking through early-stage numbers.
Notes
This is a simplified calculation that adds the tax rate and platform fee together and deducts them from gross revenue, in Japanese yen. It does not include actual payment processing fees, refunds, currency exchange, consumption tax handling, or income tax.
